Cathy Howell
Dr. Howell is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is the Ed.D. Graduate Program Director and the Graduate Program Director of the M.Ed. in Educational Leadership – Higher Education. Dr. Howell teaches courses in adult and higher education and places emphasis on (1) advancement of inclusion, diversity, equity, and access in higher education, (2) enrollment management of effective graduate education for working professionals, and (3) assessment & evaluation for excellence and rigor in graduate education.
Dr. Howell has a research agenda that is cross-disciplinary and focuses primarily on qualitative studies related to (1) the experiences of access, equity, persistence, invisible labor practices, mentoring, and leadership practices of minoritized groups in the academy, and doctoral education; and (2) an interdisciplinary inquiry into the interconnectedness of health implications in higher education for minoritized groups within the contexts of gendered and racialized intersections.
