Dr. Brad Smith is Associate Graduate Faculty with the Department of Educational Leadership and the Director of Assessment and Accreditation for the Cato College of Education. In this role, Brad leads the college’s assessment, accreditation, and reporting efforts, collecting and disseminating data for use in continuous program and college improvement. He also serves as the college’s professional educator dispositions and edTPA coordinator. Brad is actively involved in state-level advocacy around policies related to educator preparation and serves as the Advocacy and Policy Chair for the North Carolina Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. Prior to his current role, Brad worked as the Director of Teacher Education Advising and Licensure in the Cato College of Education and as a high school social studies teacher in NC public schools. He holds an EdD in Educational Leadership (Higher Education) from UNC Charlotte and an MAT in Secondary Social Studies and BA in History from UNC Chapel Hill.
